Question Mark Butterfly

Question Mark Butterfly

This is a photo of a question mark butterfly I took in June 2015. Question marks are more commonly seen drinking from rotting fruits and less often drinking nectar from milkweed and other flowers. Question Mark butterflies can overwinter in Indiana and the adults become active in early spring. The winter of 2015-16 has been mild in Indiana so far. If the mild weather continues, I anticipate seeing many adults early this spring.
