Red Admiral Butterfly

The population of Red Admirals has greatly increased during the past week in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. The Red Admiral does not overwinter in Indiana but migrates from the south. In 2012, a warmer than usual spring, we had flocks of Red Admirals in April. The migration moved into Indiana on the warm winds last week and the weather is good as the lows have remained above freezing.
